MSF: 10,000 suspected cholera cases received in Yemen since the beginning of 2019

Cholera hit Yemen early this year, and number of cases increased hugely between January and March, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said in a Tweet.

The organization confirmed that it has received some 10,000 suspected cholera cases in Yemen since the beginning of 2019.

“Because Yemen’s health system is in a state of collapse, patients have not always been able to get medical care on time,” MSF added.

The health sector in Yemen suffers from a severe deterioration due to the worsening conflict, which has led to outbreaks of epidemics, diseases and the closure of a large number of health facilities.
