Change & Construction Gov’t issues statement on recent Israeli aggression against Yemen
The Government of Change and Construction issued the following statement on the recent Israeli aggression against Yemen:
This afternoon, the Zionist Israeli enemy carried out a brutal aggression against the Republic of Yemen, killing six citizens and injuring forty others. In this aggression, the enemy targeted vital service facilities, including Sana’a International Airport, a power station in the capital Sana’a, Al-Hodeida ports and Ras Issa, and the Ras Kutayb power station in Al-Hodeida province.
The targeting of Sana’a International Airport during the presence of dozens of departing and receiving civilians and coinciding with the arrival of a civilian plane belonging to Yemen Airways clearly demonstrates the Zionist terrorist criminal psychology that deliberately targets civilians and destroys civilian service facilities to affect the lives of people and their rights to movement and mobility in safety.
This aggression is a flagrant violation of international law and confirms the Israeli enemy’s disregard for international law , society and for United Nations organizations.
Sana’a airport was bombed even though the enemy knew that the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus, was preparing to leave the airport and board a United Nations aircraft that was ready to take off. As a result, one of the crew members was injured.
We pray for the souls of the martyrs and for the recovery of the wounded, and we condemn the damage to international officials that could have been greater as a result of this criminal and terrorist Israeli attack that jeopardized their lives.
The fact that a United Nations aircraft was present at the airport at the time of the attack, and that senior international officials were endangered, underscores the Zionist entity’s indifference to the United Nations, which is inconceivable that it would meet this grave aggression with indifference and without taking more decisive action to prevent such attacks , protect civilians and humanitarian workers.
Sana’a International Airport is a vital service facility that serves as the only outlet for Yemeni patients seeking medical treatment abroad, and this attack not only endangers the lives of civilians, but also undermines the healthcare system, which has been severely affected by the nearly ten-year US, British, Saudi, and Emirati aggression against Yemen.
We hold the so-called Israeli enemy Government fully responsible for this heinous attack and call upon the international community to take immediate action to prevent such aggression in the future. We call upon the United Nations and other international organizations to condemn this attack and take concrete steps to protect civilians and humanitarian workers in Yemen. We commend all governments, movements and peoples who have condemned the brutal Israeli aggression against our country.
We affirm that our response will be forthcoming , that the Israeli aggression will not go unpunished, that the government , its military and security forces continue to work tirelessly to defend the rights, dignity and security of the Yemenis.
We also emphasize that our support for the oppressed Palestinians will continue until the aggression against Gaza is halted and the siege is lifted.
