Foreign Minister meets with OCHA director in Sana’a
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Ahmed Amer met on Monday with Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Sana’a Marcus Verne.
In the meeting, Amer and Verne discussed cooperation in humanitarian efforts.
Amer addressed significant changes in government operations following the formation of the Government of Change and Construction, which aims to strengthen collaboration with the United Nations and various international organizations.
Minister Amer emphasized the need for OCHA to intensify efforts to secure financial resources necessary to address the humanitarian situation, particularly for vulnerable groups and areas in Yemen.
He reassured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively working to resolve various issues to facilitate the operations of the UN and international organizations involved in humanitarian and development initiatives.
Amer highlighted the government’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for international organizations to effectively deliver humanitarian and development assistance to the Yemeni population.
Amer, Marcus Verne affirmed OCHA’s focus on humanitarian issues and noted that the UN is working diligently to encourage donors to resume funding for humanitarian projects in Yemen as soon as possible.
