Member of Supreme Political Council: If US Decides to Invade Yemen by Land, It Will Face Consequences
Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed al-Houthi, reiterated that international navigation in the Red Sea remains safe for various ships, except for Israeli ships or ships headed to the Zionist entity.
In an interview with MintPress, al-Houthi emphasized that Yemen has adopted multiple strategies to safeguard its regional interests. He affirmed the safe passage of 4,874 ships since the announcement of the Yemeni Armed Forces’ military operations against Israeli ships. He stated that approximately 70 ships pass through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait daily without facing any harm.
Al-Houthi criticized the Western media for adopting the American narrative regarding events in the Red Sea. He argued that this narrative aims to demonize the Yemenis and spread false information. However, he accused the United States and Britain of being responsible for the ongoing conflict in Gaza, insisting that they are the ones refusing to stop the genocide and lift the siege on its people. Al-Houthi further asserted that the United States, the Zionist entity, and Britain are seeking to militarize the Red Sea and continue escalating aggression against Yemen.
Emphasizing that the US is putting international navigation at risk, al-Houthi criticized the establishment of what the US refers to as the “Prosperity Alliance” to protect Israeli ships. He described American actions as contributing to the militarization of the Red Sea and undermining international trade. Al-Houthi accused Washington of spreading rumors to mislead the world about the safety of passage through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, pressuring international shipping companies to avoid the Red Sea and fueling resentment towards Yemen. He called on the US to stop disseminating misleading propaganda and urged a peaceful resolution by ending aggression and lifting the siege on Gaza. Al-Houthi affirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces have only targeted American and British ships in response to their aggression against Yemen.
Regarding the impact of the US-British aggression on Yemen, al-Houthi asserted that it had no significant consequences for Yemen and that the alliance failed to achieve its objectives of protecting Israel from Yemeni strikes.
In response to hypothetical land invasion scenarios by the US and Britain, al-Houthi warned that they would face consequences worse than those encountered in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He emphasized the Yemeni people’s commitment to freedom and their ability to strategically resist foreign intervention in the region.
Al-Houthi disclosed that Sana’a has received numerous indirect messages and threats from the US, including opening internal battlefronts, moving fronts, obstructing peace, halting aid, and more, due to Yemen’s support for Gaza. He maintained that the military operations in the Red Sea by the Armed Forces are aimed at seeking peace for Palestinians and blamed the US for obstructing peace in Yemen.
