Beijing: Attacks on Yemen raise more tension in region
The UN Security Council held an emergency session last night, urgently called by Russia, to discuss the US-UK aggression against Yemen since yesterday, Friday.
The Chinese delegate to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, said: “The attacks on Yemen did not stop at destroying the facilities, but rather raised more tension in the region, and we do not see how these attacks will contribute to a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.” He considered that “allowing the conflict to continue in Gaza without expansion is just an illusion and wishful thinking.”
He added: “The last thing the region needs is reckless military adventures. What is required is dialogue, consultation and calm.”
Since dawn on Friday, January 12, America and Britain have launched an aggression against Yemen, targeting several Yemeni governorates, in an attempt to protect Zionist ships and to discourage Yemen from supporting the Palestinian people.
