Ministry of Human Rights organizes an event commemorating 75th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Ministry of Human Rights organized on Sunday in Sana’a a speech event on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, under the slogan “Dignity, Freedom and Justice for All.”

At the event, the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, Ali Hussein Al-Dailami, considered the commemoration an opportunity to confront the challenges facing human rights 75 years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

He pointed out that “human rights have been absent from the conscience of the international community in countries where America, the Zionist entity, and the countries of the West have committed the most horrific crimes, the latest of which is the war of genocide and heinous massacres that have been taking place in Gaza, carried out by the Zionist entity for more than two months,” he said.

He wondered, “Where are the achievements made by the United Nations 75 years after the establishment of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? We have not seen any achievement achieved in reality and over the life of the Palestinian issue for more than 70 years other than killing, destruction and bloody massacres against civilians, children and women in Palestine.”

Minister Al-Dailami touched on the crimes committed by the aggression coalition led by America and its tools in the region, including the Al Saud and Al Nahyan families in Yemen over a period of nine years, indicating that there is a problem in dealing with human rights issues in Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria.

He denounced America’s use of a veto to stop the Zionist aggression against Gaza, stressing that America is the one managing criminal brutality in the world, and the bloody massacres it is committing in Gaza and Palestine are evidence of its brutality, criminality, arrogance.

The caretaker government’s Minister of Human Rights stressed the need to think about creating mechanisms concerned with human and peoples’ rights away from the international conventions and agreements that America, the Zionist entity, and Western countries have ignored, and did not care about any international conventions and covenants.

He reiterated that the Ministry of Human Rights will work with international organizations to protect civilians and implement their international agreements. He was surprised by the United Nations and the Human Rights Council’s dealings with the Hadi Committee and what was issued by it, even though it was the subject of constant and continuous criticism from UN bodies because of its violations and began to be treated as if it were an alternative to international mechanisms, which is a scandal in itself.

Al-Dailami expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of serious treatment by the United Nations with the massacres and crimes committed by the aggression coalition against civilians, praising the position of the United Nations High Commissioner regarding the massacres and war of extermination committed by the Zionist entity in Palestine, demanding attention to the massacres that civilians are exposed to in Gaza, demanding that the massacres suffered by civilians in Gaza by the Zionist entity be given wide attention.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Human Rights, Sanad Al-Sayyadi, spoke about human rights issues in Yemen, especially since 2015 AD, which witnessed aggression and a war of unlimited violence in place, time, and goals by the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition.

He stated that the aggression led to a deterioration in the humanitarian situation due to the aggression coalition throwing more than 1,300,000 shells and 768,000 missiles, and the killing and wounding of nearly fifty thousand civilians, most of them women and children, and the destruction of the infrastructure of all sectors.

Al-Sayadi reviewed the repercussions of the aggression and siege over nine years for various groups and segments of society, the human suffering of Yemenis, and the damage to the national economy, considering the human rights situation in Yemen a challenge that requires joint efforts from the international community to confront violations and help achieve peace and stability in the country.

He stressed that the human rights situation in Yemen is an urgent matter that requires international attention to find a comprehensive solution that restores stability to the Yemeni people, provides the necessary assistance to affected civilians, ensures the protection of human rights, and achieves justice for the victims.
