Media Union appreciates stance of al-Mayadeen Network in supporting Yemen’s media

The Yemeni Media Union has expressed its gratitude to al-Mayadeen Media Network for the wide campaign it launched in solidarity with the Yemeni media and Yemeni media professionals.

In a statement, the Union praised the role of al-Mayadeen channel, which had dedicated its open broadcast on Wednesday on its screen to solidarity with Yemen and its national media and launched an intensive media campaign on its platforms to display the grievances that the Yemeni people are exposed to.

It stressed that this position of al-Mayadeen channel was not strange since from the first day of the criminal war on Yemen, the channel sided with the Yemeni people and against the aggression despite the pressures and threats it was subjected to, which amounted to blocking it.

The Union pointed to the pivotal role of the channel throughout the years of aggression and siege on Yemen in spreading the grievances of the Yemeni people to Arab, Islamic and international public opinion.

The Media Union stated that the campaign launched by al-Mayadeen channel would support the Yemeni media and its national institutions and motivate Yemeni media professionals to convey the suffering of the Yemeni people to the world, and put pressure on the aggression coalition to stop the aggression, lift the siege, and stop crimes and violations against civilians in Yemen.

It called for strengthening joint media work with all free and honorable people of the nation towards holding the aggression coalition and its leaders accountable for the coalition’s crimes and violations that affected Yemeni media professionals and national media institutions.

The Union extended its thanks and appreciation to Chairman of the Board of Directors of al-Mayadeen Network, Ghassan bin Jiddo, and to broadcasters, editors, journalists, media professionals, technicians, directors, and all those working in this Arabic channel.

“Without the efforts of al-Mayadeen channel and the rest of the free and honorable channels such as al-Manar and others, the world would not have known the ugliness of the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen, nor would it have realized the reality of what the Yemenis are being subjected to in terms of a horrific war and comprehensive starvation,” the Union said.
