Under presidential directives, granting facilities to ships operating with UN team to replace Safer tank

The Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Affairs Authority in Sana’a exempted ships working with the United Nations team to implement the project to salvage the Safer floating tank and install the alternative floating tank from fees, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat.
The Minister of Transport, Abd al-Wahhab al-Durra, indicated during his meeting on Tuesday in Sana’a with the United Nations Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, “David Gresley”, that the exemption of the United Nations from financial fees is a contribution from the National Salvation Government to implement the project to save the floating tank Safer and install the alternative tank in implementation of the directives of the Supreme Political Council and provide all Facilities and technical assistance to the UN team and cooperation in order to save the marine environment and the countries bordering the Red Sea.
He stressed the necessity of adhering to the timetable of the plan, not being late, and adopting the continuous maintenance program for the replacement ship so that the problem does not recur, as happened to the Safer ship due to the interruption of maintenance as a result of the aggression and the economic blockade.
Minister Al-Durra pointed out the need to increase the number of flights through Sana’a International Airport to relieve the increasing pressure on travel reservations, thus contributing to alleviating the suffering of patients, travelers, stranded and expatriates.
He indicated that Sana’a Airport provides important humanitarian and navigational services for flights destined for Jordan, United Nations planes and humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen in accordance with international requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization.
In turn, Gresley expressed his thanks to the Supreme Political Council for the high-level cooperation and coordination and the speed in granting permits and exemptions from financial fees to save the Safer Reservoir and the facilities provided in a distinguished manner .. stressing that the work is proceeding according to what was planned.
He pointed out the importance of increasing flights through Sana’a airport for humanitarian reasons and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, stressing the search for international support to rehabilitate Hodeidah airport.
