HR ministry organizes awareness workshop on women’s rights in Islam
The Ministry of Human Rights in coordination with the Council for Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in Hodeida province on Tuesday organized an awareness workshop on women’s rights in Islam.
The two-day-workshop aims to enhance the culture of 30 participants, including male and female human rights activists from government agencies and civil society organizations, about the status of women and their rights in Islamic law and strengthening the protection mechanism for women.
Minister of Human Rights Ali al-Dailami referred to the status of women in Islam and their role in building society at various levels, indicating that Islamic law guaranteed women all rights.
Al-Dailami explained that the workshop comes within the framework of the activities and programs of the Ministry of Human Rights and within the framework of the aim aimed at embodying the human rights aspect of women’s protection, making a comparison of international laws and covenants, and presenting true images of their rights in Islam.
