Transport Minister warns coalition against continuing to obstruct Sanaa airport’s destinations

Minister of Transport in Sanaa, Abdel Wahhab Al-Durra, warned the Saudi-led coalition against continuing procrastination and exchanging roles by delaying the opening of new destinations from Sanaa International Airport.

The minister considered in a statement the new destinations as a human right for travelers to receive treatment in Cairo and India, or to study or perform the Hajj.

This came during a speech he made to mark the 33rd anniversary of the national day of the Republic of Yemen “May 22” and the World Flight Information Day.

“The flights to Jordan are insufficient and do not cover 10 percent of the actual need for population density in the capital, Sanaa, and the provinces,” he added.

The minister reaffirmed the technical and operational readiness of Sanaa airport to receive all civil flights and to provide air navigation services to passengers in accordance with international conditions and requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
