6 injured in suicide attack on prominent political convoy in Pakistan

A suicide bomber blew himself up near the convoy of Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj ul Haq in Zhob, Balochistan, on Frida, wounding at least six people.

The group’s spokesperson, Qaisar Sharif, said the suicide attack targeted Sirajul Haq’s convoy while on its way to a public gathering in the city of Zhob, confirming that Haq survived the assassination attempt.

Sharif said the suicide bomber was killed, while several supporters of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan were injured as a result of the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
