Human Rights Ministry welcomes success of Ramadan prisoner swap deal
The Ministry of Human Rights welcomed on Monday the success of the “Ramadan deal” for the prisoners swap, which was agreed upon during the last round of negotiations in Switzerland.
The Ministry of Human Rights confirmed in a statement, a copy of which was received by Saba, that the Salvation Government has been moving from the beginning in this humanitarian file, as a translation of the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, which is following up and keen to end this file and the return of all Yemeni prisoners and citizens who are subjected to kidnapping and detention by aggression countries and their tools.
Stressed the importance of releasing all prisoners from all sides, given that this file is humanitarian, reaffirming the readiness of the Sana’a government to conclude an all-for-all agreement, and this is what it demanded from the beginning, despite the agreement on that, but the other party sometimes procrastinates and sometimes delays and others postpone it.
The Ministry of Human Rights called on the international community to abide by the principles on which the United Nations was founded, respect human rights, give priority to the prisoners’ file, not submit to any dictates that hinder this file, and adhere to the four Geneva Conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and all humanitarian charters.
The ministry expressed the hope that the upcoming talks would be more serious and comprehensive to close this file and seriously engage in addressing the rest of the outstanding humanitarian files, represented by the payment of salaries, stopping the aggression by land, sea and air, ending the blockade, compensation, reconstruction and reparations.
The Ministry extended congratulations and blessings to the liberated prisoners and their families, confirmed the work to liberate all prisoners and detainees in accordance with the assurances of the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who puts this file at the top of his priorities and his assurances of the continuation of the exchange process until the liberation of all prisoners is completed.
