Sana’a Confirms Saudi Arabia Leading Aggression, Deplores Saudi Delegation’s Imitation of Mediator

The Deputy Prime Minister  General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, deplored the Saudi delegation’s imitation of a mediator, pointing out that Sana’a considered the presence of the Saudi delegation to Sana’a as a brave step and that it must recognize it is leading an aggression against the people of Yemen.

“The US-Saudi aggression was supposed to take advantage of the opportunity to discuss with Sana’a peace,” he said.

He explained that Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi has set clear guidelines for peace, and it does not need many dialogues.

Al-Ruwaishan made it clear that Sana’a’s conditions for peace will not change, pointing out that Sana’a considered the visit of the Saudi delegation to Sana’a a brave step and that it must recognize it is leading the aggression.

He pointed out that international law prohibits interference in the affairs of states, and that the US-Saudi aggression must realize that peace will only be achieved by stopping the US-Saudi aggression and lifting the blockade.

He stressed that negotiating to stop the aggression and lift the blockade are issues that must be discussed with the US-Saudi aggression, and that the political solution in Yemen belongs to the Yemenis alone.

For its part, the head of national delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, affirmed, Saturday, that the demands of the people of Yemen are to stop US-Saudi aggression, lift blockade completely, and pay the salaries of all state employees from the revenues of oil and gas in.

“We affirm our firm position on our just cause, as emphasized by Sayyed Abdulmalik in more than one speech and stance,” he said.

He added that the arrival of the Omani delegation in Sana’a, is a continuation of efforts within the framework to achieve peace.

He explained the delegation’s just demand must be accepted, including the exit of foreign forces from Yemen, compensation and reconstruction.

The head of the Yemeni delegation also emphasized the importance of completing prisoners’ exchange, and that there are promises that the exchange will take place in the month of Ramadan.

Recently, the head of the National Delegation, Mohammad Abdulsalam, affirmed that efforts are being pursued through negotiations to end the US-Saudi aggression and lift the siege, hoping that this will be achieved and that the damage will be fixed.

Abdulsalam explained in a tweet on his Twitter account, Friday: “God willing, the efforts will be crowned with a peace agreement that meets the demands of our dear Yemeni People from Sa’adah to Al-Mahrah.”

Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and its other regional allies, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015. The eight years of war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure. People of Yemen  are facing malnutrition, hunger, and famine, which have increased risks of disease and starvation.

The warring sides agreed on a UN-mediated ceasefire last April but it broke down after six months. Nevertheless, tensions have eased and casualties have decreased as some elements of the truce still remain in place.
