The Saudi-led coalition attacks increased despite UN-brokered truce, international calls

Y.A
Yemen army forces keep defending the country, as the Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US, increases its attacks in breach of a UN-brokered truce in the port city of Hudaydah and amid the international calls to stop .
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Thursday announced that it has treated more than 91,000 civilians wounded by the coalition attacks on Yemen during 2018.
The organization added that the attacks do not discriminate between civilians and military personnel, saying “civilians who are near the fronts lines or even in the hospitals are injured.”
Varying estimates issued by human rights organizations suggest that the number of wounded civilians exceeds 500 thousand wounded, in statistics that are considered much less than the reality according to some organizations.
Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil said that more than 300 children with leukemia need to travel abroad for treatment urgently.
An estimated 85,000 children under five may have starved to death in Yemen since 2015, Save the Children reported last month.
Almost half of Yemen’s children are chronically malnourished, which can stunt their growth, World Health Organisation spokesman confirmed in their last report.

Meantime, the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sanaa called on the UN envoy to pressure the other party represented by the Riyadh delegation and compel it to implement the prisoner exchange agreement.
The Committee confirmed that it provided full, accurate and professional testimony about the prisoners while the other party did not comply, and the total number of names presented in the other party’s lists was 9147, the majority of which were flawed.
The Committee stated that one of the imbalances in the other party’s statements was 2171 bis-names, 1144 were released in advance, 1460 fictitious names and incomplete data,111 names for al-Qaeda members and 47 names of persons on criminal and moral issues, pointing out that the testimony provided by the other party is evidence of lack of seriousness and intent to avoid the agreement.
The Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, for his part, called on the Sudanese regime to compel its soldiers to stop the killing in Sudan, as well as to stop sending them to Yemen, and to stop forcing the Sudanese people to choose whether to be killed in Sudan or in Yemen.
Al-Bashir, who is wanted by an international court on suspicion of war crimes, has made his people choose only on whether to be killed in Sudan or in Yemen as paid fighters, Mohammad al-Houthi remarked.
The Yemen’s Air Forces, backed by the Artillery Forces, notably, targeted gatherings of the coalition paid fighters in Ganyah front (Baydha) after monitoring the movements and fortifications of the paid fighters in Ganyah front, confirming that the strikes hit its target with precision, killing and wounding many of the coalition’s troops and paid fighters.
An officer of the Saudi intelligence was killed in an attack carried out by the Yemeni army forces in in Khab Washaf district , the province of Jawf. The officer, Falah al-Hajari, also holds a Saudi-Kuwaiti nationality.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
