Capital Health Office launches program to improve quality of health services

The Office of Public Health and Population in the Capital Sana’a on Sunday launched a program to improve the quality of health services and institutional performance in hospitals, complexes and health centers in the capital Sana’a.

The program aims to develop and raise the quality of institutional performance in all service and administrative health facilities, measure the level of performance in accordance with health quality standards, and stimulate a culture of quality among workers in all hospitals and health facilities.

It also aims to motivate all workers to creativity, innovation, initiative, and work to develop available resources and make the best use to reach self-sufficiency.

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel emphasized the need for quality to be a continuous daily behavior and performance in the health sector, indicating the quality in providing medical and health services which are the ministry’s priorities.

Al-Mutawakel pointed out that the aggression worked to destroy the infrastructure of the health sector, which requires redoubling efforts to improve the services provided to citizens according to the available capabilities, especially in light of the current conditions that the country is going through as a result of the continuation of the aggression, the siege and the suspension of salaries.

The Minister of Health stated that evaluating the health system and judging the level of qualitative efficiency of its outputs is based on quality standards, performance indicators, goals and specifications of the services to be provided.

He indicated that the performance quality improvement program is a fundamental pillar in any medical facility, as it deals with people and their lives, noting that quality should not be limited to appearance, but rather to the service provided, diagnosis, quality of medical devices, documentation, auditing, and quality of work.

Al-Mutawakel stressed the need to activate self-resources and make optimal use of the available capabilities, manage the medical staff, and intensify the qualification and training of cadres with the aim of improving work and modernizing and improving the services provided to citizens in a way that enables government hospitals to enhance their role to the fullest, urging the need for international maintenance of medical devices and equipment and training the cadres to use them.

Capital Sana’a Mayor Hammoud Ubad blessed the positive transformations and developments witnessed by the health sector despite the continuation of the aggression and the blockade.

Ubad pointed out that the aggression targeted the infrastructure of the health sector to increase the suffering of citizens.

He touched on the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, the Supreme Political Council and the government in advancing the health sector to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
