Deputy FM issues stern warning to IMF

Deputy Foreign Minister in Sanaa Hussein Al-Ezzi called on International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) to respect its stated goals and distance itself from supporting corrupt opponents of the Yemeni people, warning IMF against any directing  of any amounts to any branch of the Central Bank in the occupied territories.

The Deputy Foreign Minister confirmed in a statement on Saturday evening that any supply of sums of money from the IMF to the branches of the Central Bank in the occupied territories is an open involvement in financing rebel mercenaries appointed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition’s countries.

“The IMF must realize that we will treat any action of this kind as a hostile act, participation in tampering with Yemen’s rights and financing an existing aggression against our people,” he said, stressing that this step by the IMF will expose it to legal accountability.

He added, “The the official authorities are determined to force the IMF to pay fair compensation as a legal right for Sanaa by all means , the capital of the Republic of Yemen.”
