PM meets Secretary General of Supreme Council for Motherhood, Childhood

Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, during his meeting today, on Saturday, with the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Akhlaq Al-Shami, was briefed on the level of implementation of the outcomes of the Supreme Council meeting and the most prominent steps that have been taken in the context.

Al-Shami reviewed the level of the Secretariat’s implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council at its last meeting and their positive repercussions on the ground, including coordination with all sectors concerned with motherhood and childhood issues in developing policies and programs related to these two segments, which represent more than half of society.

She referred to the preparations made by the council’s secretariat to celebrate the International Children’s Day on November 20, and the roles entrusted to the relevant authorities to support the council’s activity and interventions towards motherhood and childhood in Yemen and to include support in the government’s plans and activities.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Council in coordinating efforts related to motherhood and childhood issues, stressing that all relevant components of the government should observe their obligations in assigning this component to two important segments of society, and to enhance the level of its positive interventions directed at them.

He pointed out the importance that the upcoming celebration of the International Children’s Day, which will be held by the General Secretariat, reflects the great suffering of motherhood and childhood as a result of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and blockade and its significant negative effects on these two segments.
