9 ones killed, injured due to armed clashes in Taiz
About nine gunmen, including civilians, were killed and injured on Tuesday in clashes between Islah militants in the center of Taiz city.
According to local sources, verbal altercations between armed elements from Islah-affiliated “Taiz axis” and gunmen following the son of Judge Mahmoud al-Sabri, left four dead, including one of the sellers, in addition to about five seriously injured near the world food aid distribution center next to al-Thawra Hospital.
The sources stressed that the clashes that broke out between the security officer of the “third battalion in 22 Mika brigade” of Islah and the gunmen of Judge Al-Sabri led to the death of the battalion’s security officers and one of his guards and the son of Judge Al-Sabri during direct confrontations between them.
The sources said that Judge Al-Sabri’s House came under heavy fire from Islah gunmen and they looted his car, without mentioning the reasons for the confrontations.
The sources indicated that Islah militants cut off and closed a number of streets and neighborhoods leading to Al-Thawra neighborhood, amid expectations of renewed confrontations in the coming hours.
