UN envoy to Yemen: Agreeing to extend armistice for additional 2 months
The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced on Tuesday that it was agreed to extend the armistice in Yemen for an additional 2 months, according to the same conditions.
In a statement to SABA, the UN envoy said, “I will intensify my efforts with the 2 parties to reach an agreement on a regular salary payment mechanism.”
He added, “The expanded truce proposal will allow for the opening of roads and the conduct of more travel destinations to Sana’a airport, and the provision of fuel and its regular flow to Hodeida port.”
“I will intensify my engagement with the parties to ensure the full implementation of the truce, including the full number of flights and their regularity to the agreed destinations, as well as the number of fuel vessels,” the statement added.
