National Military Committee issues an explanatory statement on opening 50-60 road in Taiz
The National Military Committee issued an explanatory statement about the opening of al-Khamseen- al-Siteen road in Taiz province.
The Military Committee explained in the statement Saba received a copy that it has opened al-Khamseen-al-Siteen roads leading to Taiz city unilaterally in implementation of the initiative of the Supreme Political Council, which was announced on Wednesday 7 Dhullahjah 1443 AH, July 6, 2022. to alleviate the suffering of citizens in the governorate of Taiz in the light of the continued intransigence of the aggression and mercenaries, and their rejection of all initiatives put forward by the military commission during the past period.
“We make it clear to all citizens in the governorate of Taiz, and to the local and international public opinion that the Commission completed last Thursday 15 Dhullahjah 1443 Hijriyah – the 14th of July 2022, the work of opening the road and removing the dirt waste and its representative held a press conference in the presence of local and external media and member of the Supreme Political Council Sultan al-Samiae, civil and military local authority leaders, representatives of civil society organizations and a crowd of citizens, proclaimed the preparations for the al-Khamseen road and opened it to citizens of the governorate of Taiz “. Said the committee.
Upon the arrival of the rights and media delegation, which had accompanied the field teams that had worked to remove the barriers, field teams and media crews at the last dirt berm, 500 meters from the other end, had been subjected to heavy bullets from snipers following the aggression’s militias and mercenaries in Taiz, almost injuring al-Hawyah media channel reporter Abdou Atta.
According to the National Military Commission, the militias of aggression and mercenaries blocked taxi buses traveled by citizens who attempted to cross the road of the city of al-Noor-al-Khamseen-al-Siteen. When the buses arrived at the last point towards the control of the mercenaries of aggression, the militias prevented them from entering Taiz, returning them and promising to kill them if they attempted to cross the road.
It regretted that the mercenaries of the aggression continued to close the 50-60 line to citizens. It affirms that it has worked to rehabilitate the road and lift all tailings, barriers, and dirt berms and has fully secured it. It has ensured through its field teams that the road is free of remnants of clashes and cluster bombs and it has developed citizens’ warning plates.
The Military Commission also confirmed that it had spared no effort to alleviate the suffering of the citizens of Taiz, but that all its attempts, initiatives, and operational steps had been faced by mercenaries of aggression by refusing, preventing, and finally firing bullets, sniping and detaining citizens who had tried to pass through the route of the city of al-Noor-al-Khamseen al-Siteen.
The Committee asked whether the other party sought to open roads or to maintain citizens’ suffering to trade and invest in them politically and militarily.
The Committee reaffirmed that it will continue its efforts to open roads in the governorate of Taiz and a number of governorates that aggression and its mercenaries continue to renounce their opening. Carrying aggression and mercenaries’ full responsibility for obstructing the opening of roads in Taiz, any aggression to which traveling citizens are subjected, and the consequent consequences.
The National Military Commission called on all citizens in Taiz to put pressure on the aggression and its mercenaries, and expose their obstruction, intransigence, and refusal to open roads.
