The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, on Saturday said that delving into the research of intellectual property and the development of guarantee mechanisms for its protection is one of the important issues for the present and the future.

During his participation today in the opening of the symposium on the legal protection of intellectual property rights in light of national legislation and international agreements organized in Sanaa by the Center for Scientific Research and Studies at Future University, Dr. bin Habtoor noted that dealing with the subject of intellectual property with its multiple ramifications requires in-depth study and clear and precise legal and regulatory control.

The Prime Minister expressed the government’s readiness to develop the outcomes of the symposium and turn them into a legal text that protects the intellectual property of every university professor, every idea and creative work, and punishes those who infringe on it in any way.

He explained that protecting the intellectual rights that allow creators to continue their creativity is a necessity to confront those who steal the efforts of others.
