12 killed, 30 injured as blast hits mosque in Afghanistan
At least 12 people were killed and over 30 others injured on Friday as a result of an explosion inside a mosque in the city of Imam Sahib in Kunduz province, Afghan media reported.
According to the report, the blast took place at 01:35 p.m. local time in Alefbirdi mosque when dozens of worshipers were offering Friday prayers, leaving at least one dead and six more injured.
Kunduz police spokesman Abidullah Abidi has confirmed the blast, saying it inflicted casualties and details would be made public after the completion of the investigation.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Afghanistan has recently experienced several explosions, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.
