Head, members of National Military Committee meet European Union Ambassador to Yemen
The Head of the National Military Committee of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, Major General Yahya Abdullah Al-Razzami, and members of his accompanying team in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, met on Tuesday with the European Union Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Munuera Vinals.
In the meeting, Major General Al-Razzami confirmed the firm position of the Sana’a government regarding opening roads as a first stage that contributes to alleviating the suffering of the people of Taiz province, and the rest of the other provinces, through the initiatives presented to open three roads in Taiz Governorate as a first stage.
He pointed out that the initiatives to open the three roads in Taiz include the Karsh-Al-Shuraeja-Al-Rahida road, Al-Zaylaie-Al-Surmain-Salah road, and al-Siteen-al-Khamseen-Air Defense-Bir Basha” road.
He pointed to Sana’a’s keenness and seriousness in the initiative and the tendency to alleviate the suffering of the people of Taiz and the rest of the governorates, and said, “But because of the obstruction of the other party and its rejection of the proposals presented by the National Committee that had previously been put forward by the United Nations in previous discussions, this prevented rapid progress.”
Major General Al-Razzami pointed out that this proves that the other party does not really want to alleviate the suffering of the citizen to a fundamental degree as much as it seeks to achieve narrow political or partisan gains in order to serve its military and partisan objectives.
He explained that the National Military Committee will soon leave for the capital, Sana’a, to meet and consult with the leadership in Sana’a, to study the ideas and proposals that were discussed with the representative of the United Nations.
And about the question of the European Union ambassador to Yemen about the course of the negotiations and the extent of their success? Major General Al-Razzami said, “The negotiations are positive if the other party deals with credibility, away from outbidding and exploitation.”
The head of the National Military Committee revealed that an agreement was reached between all parties to form joint operations rooms to follow up on violations on the fronts, during the period of calming down the declared armistice, agreed upon under the auspices of the United Nations.
He expressed his thanks and gratitude to the brothers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman for the generous hospitality and reception.
It is noteworthy that the meeting comes within the activity of the National Military Committee in the Jordanian capital to follow up on military violations, and discuss the issue of opening roads in all provinces of the republic.
