Human Organization condemns Non-Implementation of UN armistice clauses in Yemen
Human Rights and Freedoms strongly Organization condemned the failure to implement the actions and provisions of the UN Armistice by the Coalition States, including the lifting of the siege on Sana’a International Airport and the port of Hodeida in full.
In a statement received by SABA, the organization indicated on Monday that it was following with great interest the progress of the agreed procedures and items, in the implementation of the United Nations truce in Yemen, which came into force on April 2, 2022, and for two months.
The statement deplored the recent work of preventing the arrival of the first civilian flights at Sana’a airport, scheduled to arrive on Sunday, which constitutes an infringement and flagrant violation of international laws, customs and religious and humanitarian values.
The organization called for the immediate and urgent dismantling of the Sana’a airport and the implementation of the other agreed steps under the auspices of the United Nations. The Coalition States are responsible for the continuation of this blockade, the resulting impact on more than 25 million civilians, the further aggravation of suffering, abductions, harassment and interruption of travelers, and the impact on patients and others.
It called on humanitarian and human rights organizations, notably the United Nations, to fulfill their humanitarian obligations in condemning this act, which is contrary to international instruments and to pressure obstructive parties to implement all the armistice’s provisions.
