Coalition kidnaps fishermen from Hajjah coast

Saudi-led coalition forces have kidnapped a number of Yemeni fishermen who were fishing on the coasts of Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen.

According to the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, a coalition force kidnapped a number of fishermen and confiscated their boats while they were on the coast of Bahis area of the Midi Directorate.

The authority considered the abduction of the fishermen as a “cowardly and criminal act.”

It called on the United Nations and humanitarian and human rights organisations to condemn the coalition’s ongoing abductions and attacks against the Yemen fishermen.

The authority blamed the UN for its continued silence and inaction towards the coalition’s practices, which exacerbates the suffering of the fishermen.
